Tricia Lennox Thomas, M.D., is a board-certified and fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist who specializes in the diagnosis, medical treatment, and surgical treatment of glaucoma, including MIGS (minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries), tube shunts, and trabeculectomies. Dr. Thomas‘s philosophy is to educate and work with each patient to create an individual plan using a combination of medications, lasers, and surgery to control the disease and prevent further vision loss. Dr. Thomas has a special interest in using advances in genetics and precision medicine to improve the treatment of glaucoma. 

Dr. Thomas grew up in Canada. She completed her undergraduate degree in Molecular Biology at Princeton University where she graduated with cum laude honors and was an All-American Scholar by the United States Achievement Academy. 

After Princeton, Dr. Thomas was a Product Development Researcher for New England BioLabs, Inc. and holds a U.S. patent on a thermostable inorganic pyrophosphatase used in DNA sequencing and PCR. 

Dr. Thomas earned her medical degree from Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University and was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.  She completed her internship at Crozer-Chester Medical Center and her ophthalmology residency at Wills Eye Hospital.  She finished her medical training with a glaucoma fellowship at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. 

Prior to coming to Lehigh Eye Specialists, Dr. Thomas was an Attending at Wills Eye Hospital and was involved with research and teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows. Dr. Thomas also worked in private practices in NJ and PA. She has been honored with Vitals.com “Patient Choice Award” and “Compassionate Doctor Award”. Dr. Thomas is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. She has authored many peer-reviewed articles and lectured at numerous academic and educational meetings 

Dr. Thomas enjoys spending time with her two daughters and her dog.
